Mrs. Mercy Eneni Omeremu Daw is from Yenagoa in Bayelsa State, Nigerian and currently serves as a Principal Lecturer in the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, under the School of Allied Medical Sciences, and currently the Head of Department. Her area of specialty is Medical Microbiology. She was first appointed as a Lecturer on the 30th of June, 2011. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Medical Microbiology at Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State. She holds a MSc in Medical Microbiology from Rivers State University in 2019 and a Bachelor degree of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from the same institution in 2008. She completed her internship at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa in 2010, and her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri in 2011. Her secondary education was completed at Community Secondary School, Famgbe, where she obtained her SSCE in 2001, and she earned her First School Leaving Certificate from State School Three, Sangana, Rivers State in 1994. Mrs. Mercy Eneni Omeremu Daw is an active member of several professional bodies, including the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria (AMLSN), the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) as an Associate Member, the Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Initiative, and the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP). Throughout her career at BYCOTECH, she has held several leadership and administrative roles. She is currently the Financial Secretary of ASUP BYCOTECH Chapter, Chairman of AMLSN BYCOTECH Chapter and Assistant Secretary of the CHT Cooperative Thrift and Credit Society. She previously served as Head of Department from 2015 to 2017 and as Head of Medical Laboratory Science from 2013 to 2017. Earlier in her career, she was the MLA Coordinator from 2012 to 2014. |
