Ephraim-Emmanuel, Benson C. is a practising dental physician, public health specialist and academic researcher with research interests in environmental health, epidemiology and dental public health. He began his career after graduating from the prestigious University of Lagos with the Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2008. He later furthered his education and obtained his Masters’ Public Health (MPH) from the University of Port Harcourt in 2018, and his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Health from the Africa Centre of Excellence for Public Health and Toxicological Research (ACE-PUTOR), University of Port Harcourt.

He joined the workforce of the Bayelsa State College of Health Technology in 2010, where he has served in various capacities of responsibility, is presently a Principal Lecturer and also doubles as the Director of Academic Planning. Having obtained certifications in research ethics, data analysis, and environmental health and safety, he also serves as a member of the Research Ethics Committee of this great institution. Benson has also collaboratively worked and published more than 50 original research and review articles, alongside books and book chapters in various fields of Public Health.

He has also worked as team data analyst for the 2023 Oloibiri Health Project (OHP) evaluation project of the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC), as well as the data analyst and report writer for the 2024 Mental Health, Ocular Health and Obstetric ultrasonography use, baseline assessment projects of the Rivers State Primary Healthcare Management Board. He serves as a research associate at the Centre for Health and Development, University of Port Harcourt.

Benson seamlessly combines a passion for safeguarding communities with the flair for data analytics and envisions a future where data-driven insights shape resilient and sustainable public health inputs in the society.
