DR. JOHN EBIKPOLADE GOLD

Dr John Ebikpolade Gold, was born on the 28th of August 1986, into the families of Ayaowei of Ekeremor Town in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State and the Ebai of Torugbene Urban Community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria.

He is a computer Analyst, ICT Consultant and Information Manager, and have obtained his First School Leaving Certificate {FSLC} in 1993 from Community Primary School Oginigba in Obio-Akpo Local Government Area of Rivers State, Senior School Certificate Examination {SSCE} from Mbaduku Community Secondary School in 1998, National Diploma in Computer Science from Akanu Ibaim Federal Polytechnic Unwana-Afikpo Ebonyi State in 2002, Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication from Ebonyi State University in 2006, Master of Science degree in Informatics and System Management from Hamburg University of Science and Technology in 2013 and Doctor of Philosophy in Mass Communication from the prestigious Benue State University in 2024.

He currently holds a position as Lecturer 1, with the Bayelsa State College of Health Technology, Otuodigi-Ogbia Town.  He serves under the School of Foundation, in the Department of General Studies.

Dr. Gold, in his dedication to assigned primary duties and to humanity, is a member of some professional bodies which includes, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations {NIPR}, National Communication Association {NCA}, Nigerian Computer Society {NCS} and Association of Computing Machinery {ACM}.

In addition to his academic pursuit, Dr. JEG as his fondly called have held several positions.  Firstly, as a Public Relations Officer in the Student Union Government {SUG} at Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Ebonyi Ebonyi State, Assistant Secretary, Student Union Government Ebonyi State University, Development Applicator, Hamburg University of Science and Technology, Germany.

He also had working experiences as a Speech/Script Writer to Bayelsa State Commissioner of Information, Orientation and Strategy from 2008-2011, Radio presenter with Rhythm 94.7 FM in 2014 and ICT Consultant to the Commissioner of Police “Sting Team” FCT Command in 2015, respectively.

He loves swimming, reading and engages in mass impact assessment campaigns aimed at creating positive public awareness in the society.  He frontiers the legacies, aspirations and dreams of his father Professor Mondy Selle Gold, who is head of the Nigerian Diaspora Council in the United States of America {USA}.

He is a Christian and a unifier of all religion despite different political affiliations.

He is happily married with six children.
