MRS. OGBARA LEAH WINIKONUWO

She is an experienced teacher with a passion for helping students find and achieve their dreams. Leah has an extensive experience of teaching and mentoring, including more than 14 years of working experience as a lecturer. She is a poet, writer, counsellor and teacher, holds a Bachelor Degree in English(B.Ed) and a Masters Degree in English and Communication Arts. Currently teaches use of English and Communication courses in the Bayelsa State College of Health Technology – Otuogidi – Ogbia.

Her academic journey started as a pupil of Army Primary School G. R. A Porthharcourt, where she sat for her First School Leaving certificate, later to Government Girls Secondary School Oromineke. D/line Porthharcourt. A graduate of the University of Ibadan. She has a good communication skill, leadership and supervising qualities. Proven track record of developing and executing comprehensive lecture plans, publishing international academic journals among others which are: The Feminist Philosophy: A Critical Analysis of Moh’s The Edge, Integration Of Efficient Skills In Communication To Enhance Appropriate Teaching Methods In Language Skills(co-authored), Language Proficiency: The Impact Of Pidgin English Language Learning In Bayelsa State College Of Health Technology (co-authored) and many more.

She has been in comittees that tackled major problems in the college which were cult, theft related. She also was the secretary to an ELECO, has also held the position of the Deputy Dean, Student Affairs ( in acting capacity).

She indeed is skilled in public relations, a team worker and a proficient communicator and teaches with the art of differentiation. She is a member of the English Scholars Association Of Nigeria (ESAN) and Association Of Nigerian Authors (ANA).
