Otobo Igbogioledia Simon is a dedicated Nigerian academic and licensed pharmacist. He currently resides in Onuebum Town. He is single and fluent in English. Simon has been serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Pharmacy Technician Studies at the Bayelsa State College of Health Technology, Otuogidi, since the 6th of October, 2021. In this role, he is responsible for imparting knowledge in core areas of pharmacy to students, contributing to curriculum development, and supporting academic growth within the department. He brings to this position a wealth of practical experience, having previously worked in various pharmacy-related roles. Before his appointment as a lecturer, Simon held the position of Superintendent Pharmacist at Transparent Pharmacy Ltd, located on Mbiama/Yenagoa Road in Yenezuegene, from January 2020 to October 2021. His responsibilities included supervising pharmacy operations, distributing medicinal products, and ensuring quality service delivery to patients. Prior to that, he served in the same capacity at Sending Pharmacy Ltd, Opolo, Yenagoa, from January to December 2019. Simon’s professional journey also includes volunteer service as a Quality Manager at FHI 360, stationed at Nembe General Hospital between November 2018 and January 2019. Here, he played a pivotal role in ensuring the quality control of antiretroviral medications used in HIV/AIDS treatment programs. As a Corps member under the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) from November 2017 to November 2018, he was attached to Nembe General Hospital, where he was involved in the validation, assessment, costing, and dispensing of prescriptions. His professional foundation was laid during his time as an Intern Pharmacist at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri, from October 2016 to October 2017, where he provided pharmaceutical care, counseled patients, and participated in drug dispensing services. Academically, Simon is pursuing a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree at the Niger Delta University (NDU), Bayelsa State, where he specializes in Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry and currently holds a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 4.26. His earlier education includes the National Examination Council (NECO/SSCE) certificate obtained from Community Secondary School, Onuebum, and Future Leaders Comprehensive College, Ovum, Yenagoa, between 2000 and 2007. He earned his First School Leaving Certificate from State School 1, Onuebum in 2000. To support his continuous professional development, Simon participated in the Mandatory Continuous Professional Development (MCPD) training organized by the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria in collaboration with Niger Delta University from December 2022 to December 2023. This program aimed to improve pharmacy practice and enhance the competence of registered pharmacists. He is a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) and has been recognized for his outstanding contributions. On the 25th of April 2025, he received an Award of Excellence from the Department of Pharmacy Technician Studies at Bayelsa State College of Health Technology in recognition of his dedication and excellent service delivery. Simon possesses strong skills in time management, task prioritization, and goal-oriented planning, making him an effective and reliable academic professional. He has a strong interest in reading and cooking, which complement his professional life and contribute to his personal well-being. |
